It was so great to see so many families come out to the Open House. Your children were quite proud today to report that you were happy to have seen their classroom and see some samples of the hard work they are doing.
There were handouts in your child's cubby. For families that didn't pick them up, or for families that were unable to make it, I will send it home on Friday.
A common question last night was, 'How can I help my child at home?'...... Please see below for some ideas on how you can help your child succeed this year.
If your child does not have assigned homework - here are some activities your child can do
Reading - Share a book together, discuss what you/your child read (retell)
Writing - write notes, make lists, practice printing, make a sentence using a WHO and a WHAT
Math - counting to 100, skip counting by 2's 5's 10's, simple addition and subtraction facts
Home Reading - the classroom home reading program will begin in October
Readers improve my reading a lot and writer's imporve by writing a lot. Encourage your child to read and write for FUN!
Helping your child stay organized and prepared for school will help lead them down the pathway to success!
