Welcome to our class website! Please check the website as frequently as you can as it will be updated and used as a useful communication tool this year. All information on the weekly calendar should also be in your child's agenda as this is the agenda on the front board in our classroom. Your child's agenda should be up to date with the website, however if it is not this allows you as a parent to start valuable communication with your child on the importance of keeping his/her agenda up to date so that communication from school is reaching home.
The school website is also important to check as monthly newsletters are posted keeping you up to date with the events happening at Eagle Ridge as well as valuable communication between school and home.

Here are great tips on how to successfully complete nightly homework - Homework Tips.pdf Extended Absence
On occasion, families plan vacations during the instructional days of the school year. In the case of extended absence, teachers are not obligated to provide supplemental school materials when a student is away on vacation, but often choose to support the child with direction about missed assignments. It is also an expectation that the student will have those materials completed upon his/her return to school, if the teacher has provided the work. With some subject areas, such as Mathematics, a student may be absent during a certain Math strand. In such a case, the student’s report card would indicate this absence, i.e., I - "Incomplete", with an explanation in the comment section that the student has been absent for that particular strand. If a child is to be away beyond a week’s time, the school has an Extended Absence Form that is requested to be completed prior to the absence. Also, if families are planning a vacation during the school year, please let your child’s teacher know well in advance. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
Monday - Holiday Monday
Tuesday - I added a new math website at the top of this page to help your child build their math skills and use the internet. I has useful definitions and questions they can do all online. http://www.mathsisfun.com/index.htm - French Test Signed - Yearbook orders due Tuesday - Study for Music finger position test on Wednesday - Math Mean, Median, and Mode worksheet
Friday - Golden Eagle Assembly for Perserverance - Review math from the year looking back at formulas as well as the basics for EQAO on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week (students were asked to keep all math notes from the year and should have them in their binders or duo tangs http://www.eqao.com/Educators/Elementary/036/BookletsandGuides.aspx?Lang=E&gr=036&yr=09 ****It is important for all students to be present and on time for school Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday next week as EQAO starts first period (8:30am) in the morning as well as first period after lunch (12:20pm). Students have at least one hour to complete each session and being late increases a child's anxiety levels. Please avoid appointments and pulling your child during these days to give your child a fair chance at doing their best on this provincial testing. Thank you very much!
